Why yes that is another version of Bob this time the yarn is Noro Blosson, Cherry tree Hill Worsted Possum and Classic Elite Skye Tweed. Finlay loves the buttons, which if you can't make them out...they are a tractor and a trailer. The button band is my own addition to the pattern due to Finlays large German head. No he doesn't look like his parents, and we frequently get people stopping us in the street asking us where he gets his blond hair from...just as well he isn't adopted and he never left my sight in the hospital!

Confession: My mother made this for Finlay. I was going to mail the wool to her in Britain but due to unforeseen circumstances she arrived in the US earlier than expected. I think she had fun with this pattern. Bob was the most useful vest last year...I wished for more.

A freshly minted Dr AJ

Silence on the blog represents travel. The most recent being a trip down to Cincy for my baby brothers graduation....he was one of ~500 newly minted PhDs.

We spent one day at the Cincy Zoo as well, where a young lad had to be carried literally screaming from one exciting activity to another.

The favourite activity hands down, however, was the zoo train (try and explain queueing to a very hot, tired 2 year old). 'More, more train...more, more train...'. Here are the polar bears who were amazing everyone.

Brother and sister

We often get asked how Finlay gets on with his sister. Mostly he ignores her as she is no help in getting into mischief...otherwise he is very sweet, though a little rough. Here is mostly informs us that the toys are 'For Adelaide' and he names the beasts 'Elephant, duck, rabbit'....the rhino throws him a little.

Pretty in Pink

Adelaide has recieved her share of gifts as well. I wanted to blog abut two special ones. Great Grandma Cathy made her a quilt. Great Grandma Cathy does a lot of machine embroidery and our house is adorned with a lot of her work....so Adelaide very lucky to recieve this....each square is adorned with a different embroidery (my favourite is the footprint...but being a photographer on the run these days did not take a picture of it).

And my friend Marie knit Adelaide a sweet bonnet in delicious Debbie Bliss Alpaca Silk. Perfect for May showers....

New Camera....new looks

Guess who got her new camera....still trying to work out how to use it though. I  don't really like the 'out of the box' pictures, but as this camera is a different brand from the last (Cannon rather than Olympus), the interface is different and you know how great instruction manuals are...like how many different names can you come up with for picture resolution?

Adelaide, two months old. She smiles, she coos and her hair stands up on end.

My one monthday

.....I am now one month old and I am doing so many different things now. I went to my first yarn sale and met Ben (unfortunately he is into older women). Bens mom made me a lovely pink bonnet out of Rowan Kid Classic...she has class! (it's a bit big right now....but next month!) I'm now cooing. Last night I cooed in the bath to let mum know I was about to poop.. she still seemed surprised. I felt much better after that and slept for 6 hours! This morning I cooed to let Mum know I was about to start hiccuping. My head has grown and I can no longer fit my little yellow hat and I'm onto wearing my pink bonnet my kuia (grandma) made. So as you can see I'm very busy growing up!

Adelaide Clelia Marie

was born 6.30am Sunday. She is 7lb 14.6 ounces, 20 3/4" long and doesn't have her brothers blonde crew cut. We're home now.

RIP Teddybear Hat Mark #1

MIA at the Salvation Army Thrift Store on State St...one very large Toddler Teddybear hat. Otherwise here is Mark #2 being modeled to cheer you (me) up over the loss of Mark #1. This one is being worn in London... I will hopefully have some new FOs soon, if I stop going to bed early thereby foregoing my knitting time...
